Innovation is a familiar notion for the Bel Group, whose success is owed largely to inventiveness and to the modernity of its products appreciated in 120 countries. Today, this daring can be found in the work carried out alongside Kito de Pavant in the construction of the future Groupe Bel monohull. In 2008, Kito will take on one of the most demanding sporting and personal challenges of our era the Vendée Globe ! One man, one yacht, three oceans and three capes for a legendary competition.

The Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost designer’s office teamed up with the designer, Guillaume Verdier, to design the Groupe Bel 60’.
The Vincent Lauriot-Prévost team has been experts in the field of multihulls for 20 years and, as for the designer, Guillaume Verdier, he has an enviable experience of Vendée Globe monohulls. The marriage of such experience and complementary talents now brings open-mindedness and creativity to the Bel project.
What a wonderful thing to build a boat! In the beginning there is the empty boatyard where your voice echoes. Little by little the shape emerges. The curves appear. From the carbon black the colors begin to show. Right up to the day when, out of the shadows, the boat bathes in the light and eventually in the water.
The Groupe Bel boat was born in Tuscany. The Indiana Yachting boatyard team, supported by Six Team, took on the important assignment of building this unique boat, on board which Kito would live and race in the most difficult conditions.
