Much emotion for KitoA glowing line of honour met Kito de Pavant, whose tears said it all, this evening. On either side of the Sables d'Olonne channel, Groupe Bel workers who came especially from Sablé, Evron and La Rochelle lit smoke signals and cried out their support for their skipper, lighting up the night with their heartfelt support. Kito tells the story of how he dismastedSince she dismasted on Monday at 17:50 (GMT+1) 260 miles from Sables d'Olonne, the Groupe Bel monohull has been making her way back to Port Olonna with her engine. Kito de Pavant freed the deck by jettisoning the mast. This morning the boat structure would appear to be intact. The Groupe Bel monohull dismastsThe Groupe Bel monohull dismasted this Monday at 17:80 (GMT+1) after slamming violently into a wave at the centre of the forecasted storm. Kito de Pavant is not in any danger. The mast is broken as well as the boom and one of the outriggers. Groupe Bel was 260 miles from Sables d'Olonne at the time. Read more |
