Kito and Seb and their cows hit the floor in a land of sheep!


At 20:13, French time (UT+1), Kito de Pavant and Sébastien Audigane on the Groupe Bel monohull moored in Chaffers Marine in Wellington for a 48 hour technical pit stop. Groupe Bel is third !


Groupe Bel, around 175 miles further back in third place, have managed to maintain higher averages at just a shade under 10 knots overnight. However, Estrella Damm in fourth were sailing at just 2.8 knots as this morning's report was taken, some 32 miles north-west of Kito de Pavant and Sebastien Audigane (FRA), with these two boats looking set to diverge further.

At the front of the fleet, MAPFRE are now just over 200 miles from Farewell Point and the entrance to Cook Strait, while Groupe Bel continue to edge ever closer to Estrella Damm in third, now just 32 miles in front of them. The pair have around 500 miles to go along the coast of New Zealand's South Island, and are separated by about 44 miles of ocean.

Like Groupe Bel, Virbac Paprec 3 announce a pit stop into Wellington


The first boat to enter the Cook Strait, Barcelona World Race leaders Virbac-Paprec 3, were less than 30 miles away from the city of Wellington at 0700hrs this morning, with an anticipated arrival time on the dock at Chaffers Marina at around 1100hrs (CET) _ 2300hrs New Zealand time.
