Hello, after a day checking over the keel system thoroughly, now secured by Brice, and a good meal at Peter Café Sport, Groupe Bel left Horta this morning at 10 am UT. We would sincerely like to thank Armando, the harbour master of Horta who was a great help.
The weather will be quite good for the return sail to the Mediterranean. NNW and then WSW winds will drive us all the way to Gibraltar. So much the better, since without the keel she’ll be heeling all the more. We hope to reach Port-Camargue in about ten days and prepare Groupe Bel as best we can for the new goal: the Barcelona World Race.
Our congratulations go to Franck Cammas who should win the Rhum with flying colours, and our encouragements to the two leaders of the Class 50 whose boats have been severely damaged, and “may the best sailor win” for the Imocas which are approaching the finish.
