Yesterday night, at 23:00 (French time), Groupe Bel arrived in Port-Camargue after sailing the 2,300 miles between the Azores and the Camargue. After nine days at sea, the crew is pleased to have brought Groupe Bel safely back to her home port without incident.
Tomorrow, Groupe Bel will be taken out of the water, dismasted, the keel removed and placed under a tent. Keel work will begin immediately and the boat will be prepared for the Barcelona World Race (Two-handed round the world race).
In twenty days’ time, Groupe Bel will be back in the water and shall reach Barcelona on 17 December, date at which all the competitors of the “Barcelona” must be present at the Catalan port.
