To be honest, the picture was not wonderful last night when we had to cast off. It was nearly 23:00, 0°C on the thermometer and the Mistral had been blowing at nearly 50 knots all through the day. Even though it had dropped a little as we left the harbor, it was forecast to remain strong through the night. However, we didn't have much choice. We have to be in Barcelona on Friday.
Now that we are south of the Pyrenees, the sea is not as rough as it was, but the wind is still strong.
Since we left, we have been running with the storm jib, but we hope to be able to hoist the mainsail before we get to Barcelona this afternoon, as well as the other new sails we brought on board for the Barcelona World Race.
