We crossed the antimeridian during the night, just as we had started the 24th day of February, local time.
So in a few seconds, we returned to 23rd February, so it's my birthday again!
If we had passed yesterday, I would have lost a year.
In any case, I'm happy to see the W on the GPS and the longitude decreasing.
For the moment, the weather conditions are fairly calm. We're on a reach with a south wind. We're taking advantage of this to return to our 3h watch rhythm.
We are very worried about the Atu cyclone, whose trajectory converges with ours.
We know where we don't want to be on Friday and Saturday, to avoid the violent wind and huge seas and we are going to have to make some important decisions this Thursday. We have several choices open to us, but none will get us to Cape Horn quickly.
We are going to be set back in relation to the rest of the fleet, but we prefer this to a damaged boat.
We are in the same situation as Estrella Damm, which is a few miles behind us.
See you soon
